Fake degrees

My friend has just bought himself a fake degree for 2000BD. I didn’t know whether to congratulate him or give him a slap in the face, as the thought of the years I’m spending gruelling through university flashed passed. Doesn’t he have a conscience? I mean we can all make up a gleaming CV, we can even exaggerate our credentials to the nth degree yet would we lie? Would you pay 2000BD for a lie? Ok this is just a fake degree. But it incensed me. Apparantly you pay 1000BD upfront and once it is authenticated by the Ministry of Education you pay the other 1000BD. A degree from which university you may ask, a university in India!!!! I mean if a fake Indian degree costs that much (no offence) then how much would a fake degree from Harvard cost??

He'll get away with it. He'll get a job based on it, he'll pay back the 2000BD in a few months. No one would ever know.

Your friend is a FRAUD. Have you thought about dropping a dime on him. RAT HIM OUT. EXPOSE this FAKE DEGREE. You have been busting your (fill in the blank) going to school. Working hard etc etc etc and for less than 1 semester of school he has a bogus degree and will use this BOGUS degree to land a job. A job that SHOULD go to someone who deserves it. Someone who has EARNED the degree.

Desert Island Boy hit the nail on the head.

Its not WHAT you know, it's WHO you know.

At the end of the day, u study for four year, might even get a masters under ur arm, get back to Bahrain. What the hell do u do?? Go round the companies, submit ur CV. Well we all know these become next day's shawarma paper. Go to daddy get him to grease the wheels and talk to some of his buddies, pull a few strings, hey presto, not only are u a new employee, but u'll be running up the promotion ladder faster than the time it took u to read this post. The rate of acceleration also depending on factors such as ethnicity, family name and religious sect. Discrimination manifested through the wasta culture is so bad, i'd go to the extent of describing it as covert apartheid.

Desert Island Boy, what do u say to those who say pack ur bags and go work somewhere else if its so bad? ;)
