Photo series: Out and about in Bahrain

I've harboured a secret hobby over the last year or so involving a kinky and intimate relationship with the 'camera' although the product is far from so. I discovered its an awfully fiddly business. I've played with settings and switches, messed around with photoshop, spent sleepless nights sifting through quite a vast digital collection (mostly useless) and now, I will try to share a few every week or whenever. I'll focus on Bahrain for now and hopefully will get round to doing travel shots at a later stage. Feedback would be great esp technical. Hope u like!

Man ... these pictures rock... especially the two girls from a village... great work ...I think once in a while bloggers should only post pictures like this coz they say a lot.

Cheers!

the alnajar cold-store pic triggered old memories when we used to go there and buy candy and stuff. Allah yr7am ja3far el najar. he was a good man.

Nice Shots! and a great idea! Years from now pictures like these would become rarities and bring back some great memories, elnajjar's store surely did!

I like your creativity! I also like the spontaneous shots that just tell of a real "plastic-free, spiky-building-free" Bahrain which we sort of all are nostalgic for-- I can't wait to see ur next patch!LuLu *the non-photographer*

Thanks guys for passing....

Sandy; the image is more powerful than words sometimes...i guess this is what motivated me to take up photography...

anon; as it used to be called baradaat ja3far s5oona is a manama landmark!!

nurox; its funny how every1 knows alnajjar...he should run for elections, he'd probably win

lulu; thats exactly the point, the modern glossy image of Bahrain that is unreflective of a large reality that people live is what this photo series is all about. Insha'allah i'll upload more soon. Thanks for passing. Keep up the good work on ur blog, i love it!

Haha, probably, but out of the shots the one that really caught my eyes was Mo2men, I didn't read the caption and the first thing i thought was هاي مو عتبة مؤمن؟؟
and lo and behold the caption under reads just that!

Hi Bahrania,
Loved the "Barada" shot. colorful with a real bahraini feel, loved the girls from the village. Amazing. You should definitely continue your "kinky" relationship with the camera ;)
Peace,
